Canadian Red Cross CPR/AED Course: A Closer Look
When someone stops breathing or goes into cardiac distress, there is no time to lose. Having someone nearby who knows how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) may mean the difference between life and death. CPR is a valuable skill for everyone.
Students who register for either our standard first aid course or our emergency first aid course, will also receive training in CPR. However, some students may wish to take an independent course on CPR – either because they wish a refresher, or because they wish to take a different level of CPR than the one that they originally learned.
ProSafe First Aid Training School offers four levels of CPR courses (Level A, Level B, Level C and Level HCP). All of them are recognized by the Canadian Red Cross and each of them results in a three year certification upon successful completion.
Level A will cover:
Adult CPR with one rescuer
Adult choking
The proper use of barrier devices and pocket masks
AED (Automated External Defibrillation) where legislation permits
Rescue breathing will not be taught at Level A.[/ultimate_info_table][ultimate_info_table design_style=”design06″ color_scheme=”custom” color_bg_main=”#ffffff” color_txt_main=”#333333″ color_bg_highlight=”#2991d6″ color_txt_highlight=”#ffffff” package_heading=”CPR Level C” icon_type=”selector” icon=”Defaults-user-md” icon_size=”32″ icon_color=”#ffffff” icon_style=”circle” icon_color_bg=”#e52626″ features_min_ht=”548″ heading_font_size=”24″]Level C is a six hour, more comprehensive course which is intended for first responders such as police, fire, workplace first aid teams and lifeguards.
