Occupational First Aid Level 1 (Punjabi)
Occupational First Aid Level 1 is a course designed to cover all medical techniques considered to be within the responsibility of the Occupational First Aid Level 1 Attendant in industry.
OFA Level 1: What You Need to know
Occupation First Aid (OFA) Level 1 – sometimes called Workplace Emergency First Aid – is a 7 hour introductory first aid course and as such, it does not require any previous training. To be eligible for this course, you must be at least 16 years old and be physically capable of performing basic techniques of first aid as well as a multiple choice exam.
The purpose of the course is to help workers to identify common medical emergencies that may happen in the work environment and take appropriate steps to minimize the risk to the victim. Included in the curriculum of this course are adult CPR, dealing with shock, spinal injuries, treating minor wounds, sprains and burns, as well as managing emergency situations.
Why Take OFA Level 1
The benefits and importance of being able to appropriately administer emergency first aid should the need ever arise at your workplace. Every workplace should have employees who know what to do in a possible life or death situation. Even if the situation is not life threatening, timely first aid can make a huge difference to a patient’s recovery.
Not every workplace however, can afford to send their employees on a multiple day or week course. It simply isn’t practical for many organizations to lose that many man hours.
Level 1 is a good first aid course for those organizations that fit this description. Each employee who takes the course is only away for one day – and yet for each one who takes it, your organization will have one more person who knows what to do in an emergency.
What Will You Learn?
OFA Level one will teach students to identify and manage a variety of medical emergencies. It will empower you to make appropriate decisions should you witness someone going into distress and it may even help you to save a life.
